Tamani Foundation was founded by the great Samaritans Shabbir and Fatim Somji in Matemwe Village located in North East of Zanzibar. They embarked upon a journey, determined to make a difference to the fate of young students and their families, what started with a little learning center for kids, developed into a reputable school with students setting a benchmark with exemplary results.

In the effort of running the school efficiently, the family put up their personal villas for catering to guests, with the intention to support Tamani Foundation School. The Villas are made up of two private beach front villas with a private swimming pool, and eight ensuite annex rooms with a shared pool by the beach. All profits generated from Villas is channeled to the running of the School.

We can all play a part in ensuring that the children at Tamani School get sufficient materials to study comfortably, with proper sanitation and medical facilities. Tamani offers a volunteering program and which gives a life changing experience of mingling with the kids(students) and adult students during English classes, as you get to explore the culture which is definitely a heart enriching experience.
